About

A perfect base to explore Olympic National Park, steps from Lake Sutherland and minutes from other National Park faves. This retro log cabin is surrounded by “world-class” hiking and views, and you’re steps from swimming and fishing from our private deck over Lake Sutherland. Whether you relax by our lake all day or conquer a nearby hiking trail in the park, there is plenty to see and do.

Good to know

Our tiny & cozy 620 sq ft vintage cabin has two queen size beds in two small bedrooms that sleep 4. The kitchen, dining, and living room is an open floor plan with vast windows to enjoy the lake views. We provide: ~ A few books, puzzles, and board games. ~ Kitchen with essentials including salt, pepper, and cooking oil. ~ Locally roasted pour-over coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. ~ Wifi (Generally have good signal but sometimes, it can be disrupted). ~ Small propane bbq grill ~ Old fashioned local radio. Sorry but… ~ No TV to encourage unplugging and being immersed in nature. ~ No outdoor firepit. ~ No washer or dryer on-site. ~ No kayaks or SUPs on-site but rentals can be delivered by Paddle Pacwest or picked up from their shed by Granny’s. Originally built in 1948, our vintage log cabin is a work in progress as we continue to make upgrades. If you are looking for luxury, our modest cabin is not the best fit. Guest Access

Since this cabin sits on the lake, you will need to walk down 40-steps of imperfect stairs to access the cabin. This cabin is not handicap accessible or suitable for guests with mobility limitations! Also, our private dirt road is narrow and a little steep. All-wheel drive is not needed but can be intimidating for timid drivers with big vehicles. You will also need to make a 5-point turnaround or reverse uphill to exit —A little adventurous but very possible. ≈ PARKING ≈ Parking is limited to ONE vehicle only due to our narrow road and RVs or trailers are not allowed. Instructions on where to park will be provided upon check-in.

The lake house was simply amazing and the hosts were the best - so helpful. The house is charming, the outside space is spectacular, the lake is beautiful, and the neighbors were friendly and welcoming. We rented a kayak and paddle board through the hosts during our stay and they were delivered to the house. It was a perfect, peaceful experience and I can’t wait to visit again!

This was an incredible lake house that served as our home base while exploring Olympic National Park! The house is just as described/pictured. Close enough to Port Angeles and other local general stores, but secluded enough for a peaceful quiet time at the lake.

The Lakehouse was truly the little gem of our Washington state trip. The home is quant and charming and we loved all the preserved vintage features. It was super clean. The beds and pillows and blankets were very comfortable. Having coffee each morning on the deck was so relaxing and beautiful. The location was a great jump off point to go see and do lots of other things in the Olympic National Park. We would definitely stay again!

If you are on the fence about staying here, look no further!!! This place has vintage charm yet is shockingly clean. The view is peaceful and the lake is clean and swimmable. This place has so many special touches that make everything feel thoughtful, intentional, and welcoming. Fully stocked kitchen with dishwasher was wonderful. Would have stayed longer if we weren’t moving onto the next location in our trip. Check out Granny’s Cafe down the street too!!
